The trend, explained
What is the Toc Toc dance trend?
The Toc Toc dance, also called Kicékéla or the Jean Phil dance, is a TikTok dance from late September 2026. A dancer keeps a straight face, hops on one leg, knocks on an invisible door, glares over the shoulder and ends with arms spread, to a French party song from 2015. Kicékéla spells out the chorus “Qui c’est qu’est là”.
On 28 September 2026, @castinggastro posted a solo in a white room, in a blond bob wig and a white suit, at about 3.5 million views. Most remakes copy it. On 4 October, @shalunts_art posted an AI tabby cat version at about 1.6 million. On 6 October, @4thfloorboys filmed a group version in a university dorm corridor, about 34.6 million views and the biggest we found. From 7 October, CapCut “AI baby” templates appeared. We read these counts on 21 October 2026 and did not audit them.
MimicZip makes your own version from one photo. The hop, the knock, the turns, the heel kicks and the final pose are built in, so you never write a prompt, and the clip follows the original timing from the first second. The site is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with the people who posted the trend, the artists behind the song, TikTok or CapCut.

What happens in a Toc Toc dance video
A 11-second video follows six beats in this order, timed to the original clip. Shot timings are approximate, and the preview runs through the same beats faster.
01 · 0–2s
Hop and knock
Facing the camera in an empty room, you hop on one leg with the other knee lifted to hip height, knocking twice with a fist on an invisible door at head height, while turning to show your right side. Your face stays completely serious.
02 · 2–3.5s
Back to the front
You step down and turn to face the camera again, kick the right heel forward low and fling both arms wide and down with open palms.
03 · 3.5–5s
Left side
You turn to show your left side, hopping on the right foot and pumping the left knee with small forward kicks.
04 · 5–7.5s
Back to the camera
You turn your back to the camera and keep hopping and knocking on the invisible door at head level, whip your head over the shoulder to glare at the lens, then knock again side-on.
05 · 7.5–10s
Heel kicks
You turn to the front and land in a wide stance, then hop from foot to foot kicking the heels forward, left, right, left, with the arms held wide and low.
06 · 10–11s
The freeze
You freeze in the final pose: wide stance, knees soft, both arms stretched down and out with open palms, staring straight into the lens without a smile.
Your photo decides who dances. The camera, the music and the order of the moves are fixed, and every result comes out a little different. You can pick the place from three presets.

A knock on a door that is not there

No subscription
Buy credits once. They never expire.
Works on your phone
Pick a photo from your camera roll and download a video ready for TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
Ways to play it
Your cat or dog
A sharp, front-facing pet photo puts your pet upright on its hind legs, hopping and knocking with a front paw.
Just you
The classic version: your face, the deadpan hop and the final freeze. Adults only.
An adult relative or friend
Use an adult’s photo, with their OK, and send them the result. Grandparents are popular.
A toy or a drawing
Photograph your own toy or character drawing and it comes to life.
Which photo works?
One photo is required: the dancer. It shows a single subject, and the face should be easy to see.
Works well
- A clear, well-lit photo of one adult, one pet, one toy or one drawn character
- Subject facing the camera and not covered

Toc Toc Dance AI: frequently asked questions
What is the toc toc dance trend?
It is a TikTok dance from late September 2026, also called Kicékéla or the Jean Phil dance. A dancer keeps a straight face, hops on one leg, knocks on an invisible door, glares over the shoulder and freezes with arms spread. The explainer guide has the timeline.
How to do the toc toc dance AI?
Upload one photo, run the free 5-second preview, then make the full 11-second 720p video for 1 credit. You can pick the place from three presets, and there is no prompt to write. The how-to guide covers each step.
Is there a free toc toc dance AI generator?
Partly. New accounts can usually try 1 free 5-second 480p preview, once for life, and one free preview is given per network every 30 days. The full video needs 1 credit, with packs from $9.90. The full video has no watermark, and there is no subscription. The free preview is watch-only: it carries a PREVIEW badge and cannot be downloaded.
Can I do the toc toc dance with my cat?
Yes, and with a dog too. Upload a clear, front-facing pet photo. The pet stands upright on its hind legs, hops on one leg, knocks the air with a front paw and spreads both front paws at the end. Run the free preview first, because pet results vary. See the pet version.
Can I make a baby version?
No. Only people aged 18 or over are accepted, so there is no baby or child version. Use an adult, a pet, a toy or a drawing instead. The family guide shows what works.
Will the original sound match the beat?
Yes. The video runs 11 seconds, the same length as the original clip, and the moves start from second zero in time with its beat. Download the silent version, tap Add sound in TikTok and pick the original. Ours has its own AI party beat, not the song. See the sound guide.
What does Kicékéla mean?
It is how people write the chorus “Qui c’est qu’est là” (“who is there?”) said fast, which fits the knock on the invisible door. The trend is also called the Toc Toc dance or the Jean Phil dance. The names guide lists them all.
What photo works best?
One clear photo of one adult, pet, toy or drawing, with the face visible and in good light. Use JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB. Photos are stored privately and deleted automatically 14 days after upload. The photo guide lists what to avoid.
Is this connected to the people who posted the trend?
No. MimicZip is an independent AI tool with no link to the people who posted the original clips, TikTok or CapCut. Your video shows your photo, not the dancers from the original clips, and none of their wigs or suits.
Is Toc Toc dance a CapCut template?
Not as a template. MimicZip runs in your browser: add one photo and the finished 11-second Toc Toc dance video comes back, with nothing to edit and no app to install. If you like CapCut, you can still drop the result into it afterwards. See the side-by-side with CapCut.
Which settings should I use for Toc Toc dance?
No prompt and no settings to learn: the template decides the scene, the camera and the timing, and you only add one photo. People who want to run it in Kling, Veo or Seedance themselves can start from the prompt page.
Can I use just one selfie for Toc Toc dance?
Yes. Toc Toc dance is a one-person template, so a single clear photo is enough. Use a face-forward shot of your head and shoulders in good light; a mirror selfie or a photo with a phone in your hand tends to give worse results.
What do people use to make the Toc Toc dance trend?
There is no single app. People mix CapCut templates, general AI video generators and their own prompts. MimicZip skips that: it is a browser tool dedicated to this trend, where you upload one photo and it makes the full 11-second video for you.
What if a video fails or I want a refund?
A failed generation returns its credits automatically. Packs you have not used can be refunded within 7 days; see the refund policy.
Can I change the place?
Yes, from three presets. Empty room (the default) is a bare room with a wooden floor; Kitchen is a bright, tidy kitchen; Seaside is a quiet seaside boardwalk. The option does not change the price, and the dance moves, the camera and the sound stay the same.
